Rough & Ready Media offers an array of services that can help your campaign be a success.
The plan sounds like a fundraiser’s dream. But its track record of pulling in more than $58 million in unrestricted funding through seven 24-hour challenges since 2012 proves that the Giving Challenge is the real thing.
The prestigious Community Foundation of Sarasota County organizes the 24-hour Giving Challenge, which extends the reach to donors of local non-profit organizations and deals with all the administrative costs for online donations. The equally prestigious Patterson Foundation will again provide a 1:1 match for all unique donations up to $100.
Plus, prizes will be awarded to participating nonprofit organizations demonstrating exceptional creativity, ingenuity and passion. The prizes for 2022 have not been announced, but in 2021 they totaled more than $260,000.
And as an extra plus, the Patterson Foundation will award prizes — $51,000 in 2021 — to small, medium, and large nonprofit organizations based on the total number of unique donors they have during the Giving Challenge.
All the non-profit organizations have to do, before the 24 hours start on April 26, 2022, is to educate potential donors about their missions and prove to them they are worthy of their contributions.
Does April 2022 sound like a long way off? As of this writing in July 2021, you have only seven months. Now consider how long it will take to plan and execute a campaign to make the most of those 24 hours and you might conclude that you should have started in April 2021. Or earlier.
How long, for instance, would it take you to recruit and train volunteer social media influencers who will do peer-to-peer work to amplify your appeal via their own social media channels?
To make the most of the time your organization has to educate potential donors, in ways that can continue to pay the benefits of familiarity and goodwill for years, social media have proven to be among the most effective, and certainly most cost-effective, tools. If your organization does not have its own in-house experts, staff or time, help is available.
